WHUFC will sign one marquee signing (striker?) and the rest loans and freebies.
According to C&H (been said the clubs mouthpiece?)

c&p
West Ham could see up to seven first team players leave the London Stadium over the summer.

Seven possible outbound first team players this summer are:

Jonathan Calleri, Álvaro Arbeloa and Gokhan Tore all out of contract in June and they could be joined by up four more including Darren Randolph, Havard Nordtveit, Sofiane Feghouli and even Andy Carroll.

In a like for like replacements the club’s summer targets – if the papers are to be believed – could include:

Golakeeper Jordan Pickford, Man City’s Pablo Zabaleta as our new first choice right back, Swansea’s Gylfi Sigurdsson, Arsenal’s Jack Wilshire and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to join our midfield with Michy Batshuayi and Daniel Sturridge as strikers to replace Carroll and Calleri.

The only problem is that the owners will have to dig extremely deep to afford these merry bunch of ‘quality’ inbound players.

Although Zabaleta is available on a free transfer, Pickford is valued at £20m by relegated Sunderland, Swansea wants £25m for Sigurdsson, Arsenal wants a combined £65m for their duo Wilshere and Oxlade-Chamberlain. Chelsaa will want to recoup their £33m they paid for Batshuayi while Liverpool will ask for £25m for Sturridge.

At a combined valuation of £168m maybe we need to set our sights a little bit lower.

Free transfers, loans with one marquee signing might be a bit more realistic.

Looks like we'll be looking forward to another summer of chasing strikers will no intention of joining us, a lot of old has-beens paying over the odds for, or on loan rejects

Anyone feeling optimistic?

The owners are clueless cunts who are taking the club BACKWARDS!

Sign up:

Ruddy
Zabaleta
Oriel Romeu
Nolito
Ihenacho or Batshuayi
Mandzukic

Personally think if we could make that happen we'd be good to go.

Can't understand why they would consider going back in for a bloke who knocked us back unconditionally long before Chelsea came in for him. It seemed pretty clear at the time that Batshuayi didn't consider us big enough for him. And that was despite his good mate Dimi whispering in his ear at the time...

I'm looking forward to the bulletins from the treatment room when we finally land Sturridge and Wilshere. FOMB.

We sold our home on the line of progress and are going backwards.
These idiots will repeat the same mistakes every window, they know no other way.

Have no doubt. There is more chance of relegation than success with these planks calling the shots!

The lying cunts in charge obviously think people do buy season tickets off the rumours as they've behaved the same way at birmingnham and here.

Still, we had people who wanted an ST just because we moved stadiums so there might be something in it.

Whatever it is they'll under deliver again as usual and the same old mugs will defend them solidly for it.

Good heavens. Here's some facts to shake about.

LANZINI WAS A LOAN... WITH AN OPTION TO BUY!!
He's good, so we signed him permanently.

WE ARE NOT "CHEAPSKATES"
We spend LOADS in relation to our league standing(s). But yes, a lot recently has been bad value. In loans and outright signings.

(However: Nordtveit was free; wages circa £55k - hard to say whether he's good or bad value yet, really. If we sold him now for £3m, we'd make a PROFIT. We've spent more on Spanish Toni so far!)

Carry on.

It's not brain surgery. They try to get the best players they can, some of whom are - arguably - out of our reach, and most of the players say "No, thanks"

It's worked at least once in the case of Payet. A lot of French fans were surprised that we were able to get him.

Leroys - have you ever met anyone that bought a season ticket off the back of these rumours?

Do you think other teams do it?

>>> Always be in the mix for certain quality players where in actual fact we have ZERO intention of buying anyone that is decent...

It's not a fact. It's paranoia.

Like every other club we're trying to get the best that we can. Like every other club we get linked with lots of players in silly season.

The reality here is the same every bloody close season, it's their model they use all the time

Always be in the mix for certain quality players where in actual fact we have ZERO intention of buying anyone that is decent... season ticket marketing ploy

Continue the charade all summer

Wait till other clubs sort their squads out

Get in some loans,,, freebies that haven't been picked up earlier by other clubs...a this stage all that is left is 3rd rate

Big them all up like they are the 2nd coming on the official site

Repeat ad nauseum every season

The money in football is madness nowadays!

Did we spend more than Man Utd, Chelsea, City, Palace, Everton, Stoke etc etc?!?

No we didn't!!

Our board have said that when we move to the OS, it gives us a platform to compete with the best in the league.

For that to happen, we need to spend close to £200 million and there is not a hope in hell we will spend anywhere near that.

So many people are happy/content with the board but I'm not buying there BS.

It will be another summer where out net spend will be around the £30 million mark and in today's market, that's peanuts!

Another reminder - our past few years have not been cheap. We are high spenders.

If the want us to challenge for European places, you have to spend European money (£100 mill +).

We will no doubt do things on the cheap yet again! With this current board, I can never get excited!
